Moto2™ races form an exciting part of each motorcycle Grand Prix weekend. For 2019, the 71st FIM Road Racing Championship season, Triumph is the exclusive engine supplier to all Moto2™ teams, providing their brand new, race-developed 765cc Triple powerplant.

From 2019’s first race in Qatar at the Losail International Circuit on March 10, 18 teams and 36 riders will be powered by Triumph’s Triple engine, competing at the world’s most prestigious circuits with the accolade of the 2019 Moto2™ World Championship set firmly in their sights.

CIRCUIT OVERVIEW

Qatar is a popular host for the suitably glamorous season opener. It’s the only night race on the Moto2™ calendar, around a track that’s 3.34 miles (5.38km) in length, with 16 corners and a long 1km home straight.

Termas de Rio Hondo

ROUND 2: March 31, 2019

Argentina Termas De Rio Hondo 

Rebuilt and refurbished as recently as 2012, this is a fast undulating circuit that’s 2.99 miles (4.806 km) in length with sweeping curves, five hairpin bends and a stunning long (1.076 km) uphill straight between turns 4 and 5.

Circuit of the Americas

An exciting fixture on the Moto2™ calendar since 2013, this is a long anti-clockwise circuit (3.43 miles/5.513 km) noted for the incredibly steep home straight that leads up to turn 1 and its subsequent sweeping curves.

Spanish Circuito De Jerez-Angel Nieto

A 2.75-mile (4.423 km) track with 13 turns and two straights (the home straight is 607m long), this stunning circuit has an attendance capacity of 125,000!

Bugatti Circuit at Le Mans France

ROUND 5: May 19, 2019

French Le Mans

The Bugatti Circuit at Le Mans provides one of the quickest laps in the Moto2 calendar, where riders will aim to race each 2.66-mile (4.185 km) lap in less than 100 seconds!

Mugello Circuit Spain

ROUND 6: June 2, 2019

Italian Autodromo di Mugello

Motorcycle Grands Prix have been held at Mugello since 1949, and riders love the 3.26-mile (5.245 km) circuit’s variety of corners and the long 1.141 km straight that is intersected by the start/finish line.

Catalunya cirucit

ROUND 7: June 16, 2019

Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya

2.88 miles (4.627 km) long with 14 corners and a home straight that’s over 1km, this instantly recognisable track layout offers multiple lap opportunities to overtake, which adds an extra dimension to race excitement for up to 140,000 race fans.

Assen TT

ROUND 8: June 30, 2019

Dutch TT Circuit Assen

This is a challenging circuit, nicknamed ‘The Cathedral of Motorcycling’, with 18 turns; some of which can be taken flat-out due to the exceptional grip that’s available.  It’s also one of the longest-established circuits on the MotoGP calendar.

 German Sachsenring

At 2.28 miles (3.671 km) Sachsenring is the shortest circuit on the calendar, packing in a 700m home straight and 13 corners to invariably provide exciting races for attendances that regularly approach a quarter of a million.

Czech Automotodrom Brno

A heady mix of short straights (the longest of which is only 636 metres) and 14 corners, this 3.36-mile (5.403 km) track undulates through forest scenery and encourages thrilling races that demand total rider focus.

Austrian Red Bull Ring – Spielberg

Long straights punctuated by hairpins and sweeping curves alike, the Red Bull Ring is a compact circuit of 2.68 miles (4.318 km) in length and delivers fast laps in a stunning location nestled among Austria’s Styrian mountains.

San Marino Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli

 

The track is characterised by its distinctive long straights and hairpins and. at just over two-and-a-half miles in length (2.63 miles/4.226 km), is one of the shortest tracks on the current Moto2™ calendar.

Aragón MotorLand

With 17 corners, a long back straight measuring almost 1km, and an elevation difference of 50 metres between the lowest and highest points, this is a modern 3.16-mile (5.077 km) track with challenges that will test any rider’s nerve.

Japanese Twin Ring Motegi

So-called because the site also incorporates a separate oval track, the Moto2™ Road Course is 2.98 miles (4.8 km) long and combines straights with hairpin turns that provide exciting laps and entertaining races.

Australian Phillip Island Circuit

The combination of a 900-metre home straight complemented by 10 sweeping curves and 2 hairpins has made this well-established 2.76-mile (4.448 km) coastal circuit a much-loved perennial MotoGP fixture since 1997.
